World Record Smallest Chicken Egg?
« on: September 07, 2008, 09:52:34 AM »
I am posting a picture of Ameraucana bantam eggs that I fetched this past week(Ending 9/5/08).  The egg on the very right is a \"white\" store bought egg sold as \"medium\" in size.  The egg in the middle was the largest blue egg that I have received thus far.  This is the first year I have raised Ameraucanas.  Remember, this is a \"bantam\" egg.  Furthermore, the large bantam blue egg which was nearly the size of a medium store bought white egg \"was\" a double yolker!

The egg furthest left is by far the smallest chicken egg I have ever seen in my life!  So are these size bantam chicken eggs a rare occurance?  Or only rare to me?  Hope you enjoy the picture!  Anyone interested in buying the tiny blue egg at a premium???   ;)  Sorry but the large one is gone  B)

I had a blue egg that was half the size of your little one.  There was no yolk in mine.

I get some the size of a marble and some a little bigger from time to time.

I\'ve had a few of those from my Red Sex Link hens (one yesterday). They never contain a yolk.
