Lindsay Helton - Secretary/Treasurer

alternate text

Lindsay was raised in the small southern town of Arab, Alabama. She attended Freed-Hardeman University where she met her husband Billy. Lindsay graduated with a double major in Psychology and Kinesiology. She served as a family counselor for at-risk youth prior to becoming a stay at home mother in 2010. Lindsay and her husband Billy have 10 year old twins, a 6 year old and a 2 year old. They reside in Lawrence County, Tn and are members of the Pulaski Street Church of Christ. Billy serves as a deacon and Lindsay enjoys teaching bible class.

When Lindsay first ventured into raising poultry, her husband assumed they were getting a few backyard birds for eggs. Nineteen breeding pens and a conditioning room later, Lindsay was finally semi-satisfied with her setup. Her poor husband still hasn’t gotten to eat any of the eggs as Lindsay is always eager to set them in the incubator.

Lindsay has enjoyed some fun wins in the poultry world with the Ameraucana breed including Champion large fowl, Reserve Champion large fowl and several Best of Breed awards. She earned Master Exhibitor status with the ABC in 2022. She credits Jean Ribbeck, Susan Mouw and Paul Smith for feeding her passion for the Ameraucana breed. Lindsay enjoys being outdoors, studying poultry genetics and watching her kids play basketball in her free time.
