I have read through old posts and can\'t find the answer to this question.
If I don\'t have enough eggs to fill my GQF 1202, would it be better to put all the eggs on one shelf (middle, top, or bottom?) or spread them out evenly between the 3 shelves?  I know an incubator is designed to run with a full load of eggs so will 1/3 to 1/2 of capacity cause me problems (the incubator is in a room where the temp is constant)?

The fan distributes the heat pretty evenly, so it shouldn\'t make any difference.   I set one level each week and have not noticed any difference in hatchability owing to which level they are on.  I get best results with mine when I set the eggs at 98 degrees.

I would put them in the middle of the center tray for the best results.  Before putting eggs in each year I set a digital thermometer on in the middle of the center tray and adjust for a temp between 100.0 100.5.  Then I adjust, if needed, after my first hatch so most of the chicks are hatching at 21 days.
