Thanks to Jerry at Woodhaven we have a very nice trio of Black Bantams in the brood pens out back. Very nice ones too....very well balanced... small comb on the male and all have very nice type. We have already have a few eggs and the birds are as tame as kittens. ( My daughter has had enough of the RIRs trying to hit her leg when she goes in the pens......)

Congratulations Thurman!   Jerry has very good birds so I know you have an excellent start.    I\'m surprised he had any extra to spare this time of year, but maybe he has plenty hatched out by now.   I just set my first eggs since early January last Sunday evening.     The birds were laying up a storm last December and January when the weather was lousy, but now that the days are longer and a bit warmer they have tailed off.
But we\'ll get enough hatched out to raise this year.
