I have noticed that the silver bantams are some of the better layers, and also tend to have pretty darn good egg shell color.
My first sping hatch came off the first weekend in April so none of those are laying yet. However, I ended up keeping four pullets from the \"end of January\" hatch (intended for 4-H projects) and all four have been laying very well. Two of those are blues, one a blue-wheaten, and one a rumpless silver wheaten araucana bantam. Incidentally I have rumpless and/or tufted bantams available for anyone interested. They would not be showable, however.
